There Are Three Key Steps to Making a Change
Step 1: Clarify Your Why
Making a meaningful change requires determination and effort. When the journey gets tough, your “why” is what will keep you moving forward. Simply seeing something inspiring on social media and deciding to pursue it won’t be enough to sustain you. Your goal needs to be deeply connected to a core value or belief. When you’re rooted in this, even when excitement wanes, you’ll have something strong to fall back on—something that will reignite your motivation and keep you on track when the going gets tough.
Step 2: Set a SMART Goal, Then Break It Down
You don’t need to have everything figured out at once. Your primary goal is the big change you want to make—make that your main SMART goal to act as your guiding light. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
So why are SMART goals so important? They help you stay focused and clear, especially when things start to feel overwhelming. If you ever get off track, you can easily refer back to your SMART goal to recalibrate and get back on course.
Once your main goal is set, break it down into smaller, manageable steps. This way, you can start seeing progress right away and build momentum as you go.
Step 3: Listen to Your Intuition
This might be the toughest part of making a change.
Life rarely goes according to plan. As you move forward, new information will come to light. You’ll meet people, discover new opportunities, and face unexpected events that may seem more important than your original goal.
Remember, you and your change are part of a bigger, dynamic picture.
And that’s okay. It’s completely normal for things to shift along the way.
You can’t treat yourself like a machine, grinding away until you reach the finish line. Life is fluid.
It’s essential to check in regularly to make sure your goals still align with your core values, and that the change you’re making is still in sync with your deeper purpose.
When Doubt Sets In
This is taking too long. I can’t make all these decisions!
I just don’t have what it takes. This is way harder than I thought.
Is it really worth it?
Doubt is inevitable. You start strong, feeling motivated, and then, suddenly, you hit an unexpected wall. It happens to everyone at some point.
And when it does, the doubts creep in.
The key is not letting them derail you. With the right mindset and tools, you can neutralize these doubts and get back on track. Here’s how to handle some of the most common ones:
This is taking too long — Remember, you’re creating something new. It takes time to build something that lasts.
I can’t make all these decisions! — Break things down into smaller, manageable steps and focus on one decision at a time.
I just don’t have what it takes — Reflect on past challenges you’ve overcome. You’ve faced tough situations before and came out stronger. You have what it takes.
This is way harder than I thought — Set smaller goals for now to build momentum and regain confidence.
Is it really worth it? — Reconnect with your “why.” When things get tough, it’s your core belief that will keep you moving forward.
Doubts are part of the process. Acknowledge them, but don’t let them define your journey.

Of course, everyone’s journey is different. That’s why I also offer individual sessions. Some people prefer to work independently and check in only when they need guidance, while others thrive with consistent support every step of the way. The choice is yours!
